Scars

A poem, Written 20th June 2026

There are scars on my arm
From a time,
A version of me,
I wish I could forget

They are a reminder
Of feelings I dare not relive
Of a person I can only see with Pity
Of devastating weakness

But these scars on my arm
I should not,
Can not,
Must not forget

For they remind me
Of feelings I am glad to no longer feel
Of a person from whom I’ve grown
Of a weakness that made me stronger

There once were cuts on my arm
But now they are scars
And I am still here
And that I will never forget
